My Top 10 Best Halloween Candies

This list is in no particular order and was NOT stolen from another individual. Copyright Infringement will not be tolerated and all property goes to Steven Chung....AH SCREW IT! I don't care...do what you want. :)

 - Blog #6: It's nearing the end of October and I'm ready to write a new "Top 10" list. On Hallow's Eve, little kids and teenagers dress up for trick-or-treating, carve Jack-O'-Lanterns, or become involved with many other Halloween shenanigans. While wearing a costume or going to a costume party can be fun, and people like to go along with their regular traditions on Halloween, a big part of the holiday is often disregarded from all the excitement over the legacy that Halloween leaves behind. It's about the candy! Kids love it, teens love it, I love it, and you know that (deep down) you do too! So, finishing off this month of blogs, I'm going to show which candies I found to be the most popular and the ones that often get finished off in an instant. Are your favorites on the list? If not, all I can say is....Boo....

1. Nerds - No, I'm not talking about the stereotype. I'm talking about everyone's favorite sugar-coated sugar treats from Willy Wonka. Most people on Halloween give out those small boxes of Nerds, as their treat for their trick. While the rattling of these boxes can be obnoxious, some can consider the rattling to be quite appealing. You never really notice how quickly one can down these boxes, because...they taste fantastic. They're pretty small and you wouldn't really have to worry too much about your teeth...but brush anyway!

2. Reese's (Peanut Butter Cups) - If nothing else, I would gladly trade a good portion of my Halloween candy for these. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups have been around since the 1920's. Over 80 years of peanut butter-chocolate happiness can really take it's nostalgic turn in one's mind. There's so much freaking peanut butter that you could make a snack or meal out of these. Sure, you have "Reese's Pieces" and miniature cups, but the standard sized cups are the ones that will always taste....yeah I'll say it...ORGASMIC!

3. M&M's - No, not the rapper. The candy! While I have no particular reference as to which flavor I enjoy the most, there's nothing that M&M's can't cheer up on a bad day. Introduced later than Reese's, M&M's were released in the U.S. during the 1940's and are now popular throughout the known world (I believe over 100 countries...but that's actually just a guess). Let's face it...Halloween would not be the same without these. It's not just the taste of them that gets a kid excited, but the scents of the candy through the candy bag. M&M's are just very well known and taste very good! Want proof? Just try some!

4. Candy Corn - These are Halloween classics and a traditional treat, at best. These are even sometimes considered as a Halloween mascot, being that you see the candy corn designs on anything related to the Halloween holiday. Candy corn mainly takes the spot though, just because they've been around the longest and are still going strong today. Try about...130 years! People still love candy corn. Who could blame them, after tasting the sugar and corn syrup goodness? It's not just Halloween that these candies are presented. There are even some cases where the colors change from yellow, orange, and white to other colors for each different holiday. Young or old, people still love Candy corn....I wish I had some right now.

5. Skittles - The fruit-tasting equivalent to M&M's, Skittles let you "Feel the Rainbow, Taste the Rainbow" and that saying could not be any more accurate. However, unlike M&M's, Skittles candies have many colors, with EACH ONE having a different flavor. Plus, they're labeled with an "S" instead of an "m" mark. The best part is that it doesn't matter which ones you put in your mouth, or how you mix them. Any combination of Skittles taste fantastic. Arguably, Skittles are also known for having some of the best commercials.

6. Tootsie Roll (Pops) - Not much to say about these, except that Tootsie Pops are chocolate perfection. The most well-known case of losing a tooth. Tootsie Rolls are just as tasty as taffy. Giving out the smaller rolls make the treat bowl last longer, but giving out Tootsie Pops will make kids smile from cheek to cheek. I remember getting a Tootsie Pop, unwrapping it, and then looking around the wrapper for that Indian with the arrow shooting a star (and to this day, I still don't know what the point of doing that was...). Both types of Tootsie Rolls can be long-lasting and memorable.

7. Milky Ways - Seriously, what candy in the world is good for dental hygiene? This is one of those candies where you know your mouth is going to be a mess, but you'll eat it anyway because it tastes so good. Chocolate outside, caramel inside. Almost every single house on my street will have some form of Milky Way given out, even if it's vanilla flavored instead. Indubitably, one of the most underrated candies ever. Could it be possible that this candy gets low ratings because it really wasn't named after Earth's galaxies? Hmm...

8. Kit-Kats - A candy that is one of the most common things on the Halloween giveaway list. Kit-Kats will go out...fast! Makers of Kit-Kat produced many different kinds of Kit Kat candies, but none reached out further than the classic 2 to 4-pieced one. I must have a thing for chocolate because almost every candy on here has some form of it. These candies can come in multiple pieces of chocolate-covered, 3 pieced wafers and are fun to eat because you get that awesome "Crunch" sound. How else could people have made this?

9. Nestlé: CRUNCH - Speaking of crunching, CRUNCH is probably my favorite candy on this list. I would die to get some of it during the Halloween season (even though I don't Trick-or-Treat anymore...thank goodness for leftovers). Vaguely similar to Kit-Kats, CRUNCH is a chocolate covered, crispy rice treat that could make even someone like me happy! It's hard to describe, other than the fact that it tastes great. Plus, these guys stand out of the candy bowl, mainly because of the bright blue wrapping that covers them. Kids would immediately dive-bomb for it!

10. Snickers - For reasons unknown, I have never had a Snicker in my life. However, it's a candy that I see EVERY Halloween! I even see billboards will Snicker logos that say something witty, involving peanut butter or chocolate (Peanut-Metropolis...or something like that). Apparently being a candy bar with substance, Snickers can fill a person up in a flash, but who can really guess something like that on Halloween?

My Top 10 Beautifully Composed Video-Game Boss Soundtracks

This list is in no particular order and was NOT stolen from another individual. Copyright Infringement will not be tolerated and all property goes to Steven Chung....AH SCREW IT! I don't care...do what you want. :)

- Blog #4: Many of my blogs will consist of music-related topics, especially when it breaks down to the passion of video-game music. Whether it's a mix of favorites or a collection of masterpieces...music is just amazing, isn't it? This time, the "Top 10" list will be showing off some of the most beautiful pieces of music, brought on by an EPIC boss battle. There is an erratic amount of sheer epic proportions, when defining what makes a boss battle theme an epic one. Just like the last blog, I'm only allowing one song per video-game franchise. So, here we go.

1. Super Mario 64/DS: Final Bowser Battle - What better way to start off a collage of boss battle themes than with a boss that so many video-game fans will recognize? Bowser is up to no good, once again, and has stolen Princess Peach out of the Mushroom Kingdom's hands. "Here we go!" Mario sets off to save the day, the kingdom, and the princess! Throughout Super Mario 64, Mario will be traveling from world to worlds, all while inside a castle and jumping into paintings. Once you receive enough Star Power, you will have a chance to fight Bowser. Mario will have to fight Bowser three times, before you can win the game. The first two times, you get a rockin' theme that displays Bowser's rampage towards Mario and his heroic antics. Once you've reached the end, and you fight "Bowser in the Sky", you get this. Unexpected, but very appreciated...ORGAN MUSIC!

2. Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts II: Sephiroth Battle ("One Winged Angel") - How often does anyone hear opera-like music and video-game boss battle music clash? Well, it happens more often than one may think, but I never anticipated games like these having such a quality. Appearing to be a song taken from "The Messiah", "One Winged Angel" belongs to the ever-daunting character of Sephiroth. This individual was born from an experiment and was developed into a divine figure. With his long-sword and his single wing, Sephiroth becomes spiteful toward the human race and wishes to control the planet. Sephiroth also made a special appearance in Kingdom Hearts II, as an obstacle in Sora's path at Hollow Bastion castle. This theme is catchy, cool and gives opera music a good rep.

3. Sonic & Knuckles: Doomsday Fight - Now, I know I titled this blog as "Beautifully Composed...", but there is a reason why I wanted this one on the list. I wanted to be fair to the readers and not have every single song be something organ-like or classical (not that I don't think it's appropriate). Some people may see other kinds of music as "beautiful" and something like techno rock could fit into that category. There was even a rock remix made for the YouTube series, called "Super Mario Bros. Z!" So, Sonic is basically saving his home from the works of Dr. Robotnik/Eggman (again). This time, the final battle battle involves Sonic going "Super Saiyan" and the battle must be waged against a massive robot holding the stolen Master Emerald. The Master Emerald is the source of survival for the planet of Mobius. I included links to both the original song and to the rock remix, just because both themes are so awesome.

4. The Legend of Zelda-Twilight Princess: Final Ganondorf Battle - Here comes a rant...people who have played Twilight Princess and have reached the final battle must have had the same feeling I had. Why was the final battle so disappointingly easy? Most Legend of Zelda bosses have noticeable weak-points, but Ganondorf did not. So, why is this a bad thing? Well, if you know what to do or have played the game long enough to figure it out, this battle was just a 2-3 minute sword-fight. I, honestly, had a harder time beating the final boss of Sonic & Knuckles than I did this game. Anyway, once you've realized that Ganondorf was the one who again shrouded Hyrule in darkness, you must fight him 3 times (somewhat like Bowser's situation, except in a row). First, you battle Ganon in his beast form. It's the one that's dearly noted upon, by classic Zelda games. Once you win, you then fight Ganondorf on horseback, with Princess Zelda alongside shooting Light Arrows at Ganondorf. Then, you knock Ganondorf off the horse and are forced to fight him, one-on-one, in a sword-fight to the finish. This battle was pretty easy, but the conditions of the fight (the thundering fields of Hyrule and the sword-fighting) somewhat made up for the quick victory. However, what REALLY caught my attention...was the battle music in the background. It just fit so perfectly for this epic (but easy) battle.

5. Pikmin: Emperor Bulblax - Yes, indeed. Pikmin is on this list. For such a seemingly innocent game, in which Olimar is saving the Pikmin race and finding parts to fix his spaceship, the final battle just threw this gigantic final boss at you. Although not so tough in his returning performance in Pikmin 2, Emperor Bulblax was a beast here. The Bulblax community has taken over the Pikmin ecosystems and eat every last living thing in sight, almost leading the Pikmin to the brink of extinction. Fortunately, large bomb plants were growing around this battlefield. This battle was very hard and it actually took me a few days to beat. The music gave this glutenous-feeling of doom and gave the impression that you would be fighting something huge. It did not disappoint.

6. Pokémon FireRed/LeafGreen: Champion Gary Oak Battle - Who needs an epic battle against a champ, when you can have an epic battle with the greatest rival ever? Debuting in the first ever Pokémon games, Gary Oak becomes the first known rival to the hero (an annoying one, at that). What's so great about this rival? He becomes Pokémon Champion of Kanto...before YOU! After humiliating insults from this loud-mouth Gary, it's time to face him and shut him up once and for all. Having, basically, the same 6 Pokémon in the classic series, you receive an essence of nostalgia like never before. The only reason the remix theme topped the original was because it combined the ideals of #2 and #3 on my list.

7. Star Fox Assault: Aparoid Queen Battle 1+2: As stated in the previous blog, this game has an amazing orchestrated soundtrack, produced by the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. The storyline behind this game is that the Cornerian army is ending battles with an old foe's remaining forces. After appearing to have a complete victory on the team's belt, a new enemy force emerges. A parasitic group of cyber-bugs called "Aparoids" invade and destroy much of what is the Lylat System (Star Fox's version of our Solar System). The Star Fox team learns of the cause of the infestation. The insects are produced by their leader/breeder, the Aparoid Queen. She controls every single mind slaved to the Aparoids and is able to access memories, abilities, and even machinery with utmost ease. Star Fox's Slippy Toad invents a self-destruct program, which would be launched inside the Queen's hive. It's up to Fox McCloud to defeat the queen and activate the program. I included both themes, seeing how both refer to the same boss and both have the same amount of awesomeness, without too much continuity.

8. Ninja Gaiden-Dragon Sword: Nicchae Battle - Another great game for the Nintendo DS, Ninja Gaiden-Dragon Sword holds true to the powers of a ninja. Ryu Hayabusa, the hero, rebuilds a village after an incident that happened 6 months ago. His apprentice, Momiji, is kidnapped by the Black Spider Clan and Ryu sets off to rescue her. Ryu is forced to travel to different dimensions, in order to find Momiji. After collecting the powers of gems called "Dark Dragonstones", Ryu is sent to the gates of Hell. Two evil spirits of ancient fiends appear to face Ryu. Ryu easily defeats the first one (Ishtaros). Then, when Ryu thinks he has won, Ishtaro's sister summons herself to fight. Nicchae brings a new meaning toward evil, as she planned to "create a new world"...destroying it was the real intention. Unlike Star Fox: Assault, this game's soundtrack was not recorded by an actual orchestra, but it's very convincing.

9. Megaman Network Transmission: Life Virus R Final Battle - The Megaman Battle Network series didn't hit it off with many Megaman fans. They felt that the game-play didn't feel as classic as the original ideas of "Classic Megaman" or "Megaman X", but it still was a hit to other Megaman fans (like myself). While being a game with stereotypical Japanese styled pop/techno music, the music was very appropriate for the actual plot of the game. You really felt as though you were exploring the internet or a digital world. Megaman had just defeated the WWW's Life Virus R, after it threatened to destroy the networks. However, the threat returned and the Life Virus R was being re-build by the powers of the protege of Dr.Wily. Megaman must now stop the attacks of rampaging NetNavis, whom were infected with the Life Virus poison. Then, you reach the Undernet (the supposed Internet's Hell) and are forced to fight every boss you've fought. Then, you fight the Life Virus R, for the final time.

10. Kingdom Hearts-Chain of Memories: Marluxia Battle  - Ok....I'm only partially breaking my rules for this one. Technically, #2's music resided over the Final Fantasy series and only appeared once in the Kingdom Hearts series. Also, this is from KH1 and not KH2. So, this counts as being a pick in my book. I won't go into detail with the storyline of the game, but just imagine fighting someone with a scythe and hearing this in the background. Hearing it, you'll feel the same sense of judgment and battle mixed into one. Isn't that how a boss music should be?

My Top 10 CLASSIC Video-Game Soundtracks

This list is in no particular order and was NOT stolen from another individual. Copyright Infringement will not be tolerated and all property goes to Steven Chung....AH SCREW IT! I don't care...do what you want. :)

- Blog #3: Here's Blog #3 of my new "series." This blog is not about my favorite soundtracks for video-games. Rather, it's about the ones that I will always find to be a classic in my heart. These are soundtracks that I always find myself humming or singing to. Just a quick note: I mostly play games from brands like SEGA, CAPCOM or Nintendo. I rarely play games like Call of Duty or Halo. So, don't be a pain and rash on how "that song" isn't on the list. It's my list, not yours! Make your own. I will only have one song per-franchise. Each number will have a link to the soundtrack and a description....don't mock my geek-ness.

1. Star Fox: Asteroid Field (N64, Adventure and Assault) - Yup! The infamous "Meteo" theme in the Asteroid Fields. This one is actually three songs in one number, but...you know what? It's MY list! You're playing as Fox McCloud, flying your Arwing into the meteor stampede, and you hear a militia-like song playing in the background. The N64 started the usage of this 2nd stage composition and it was remixed further for Star-Fox: Adventure. As if these songs weren't awesome already, the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra (I believe) actually played the background music of Star-Fox: Assault. Just...amazing. They even got a mention in the credits. The orchestra played for all of the tracks in Assault and all of them were pretty epic. Honestly, I find the Assault version to be the best of the bunch. Then again, the N64 has this one line, that should be recognizable to most video-gamers out there..."DO A BARREL ROLL!!!"

2. Metroid Prime: Meta-Ridley Battle - Boss battles are definitely a good candidate for epic music. If you've played Metroid games or games relating to Metroid, then you've either heard this song or you've heard remixed versions of it. I'm not sure, but I think this song was reused for three games: Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. If you're like me and you've played all of them, then you couldn't have not known this track. If you hear it enough, you get this song stuck in your head. The main reason this is a classic though is because, once this song hits, you just know that "Dragon-Boy" is coming and you're about to get an epic battle going.

3. Super Mario Bros: Airship Fortress Theme - Sometimes the most memorable soundtracks are the ones that are remixed or reused, over and over again. This song is no exception! The airship fortress theme was used in numerous Mario and Smash Bros. games like: the original Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Bros. All-Stars, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and even Paper Mario 64. Thunder strikes, Mario runs to the nearly departed airship and grabs the anchor! He's hoisted onto the deck and now you're flying in a thunderstorm with sh!t flyin' everywhere! The thunderstorm even fits the mood of this piece. In our band class, I always go to a piano or vibraphone and play the exact chord changes of this specific song. It's so fun.

4. Megaman 2: Dr. Wily's 1st Stage - Moving on to a CAPCOM game: Megaman 2! Some argue that this is the best Megaman song ever made. Some argue that Megaman 2 was the best game of the series. A sequel beating an original!? (gasps) Impossible! Best? Maybe. Epic? You bet. For it's time and now, this was (and still is!) a fast-paced theme that made you go, "Dr. Wily's going down!...again..."

5. Pokémon Red, Blue, Green and Yellow: Trainer Battle! - This one had to be on the list! Just hearing the first 2 seconds of this theme gets you amped for a Pokémon battle! This theme is just nostalgic and brings back childhood memories of me playing with the Game Boy Color. I think I still have it, somewhere. You hear "Pokémon" and this has to be one of the songs that comes immediately to mind (except the popular TV show theme, of course). The song fits the 8-16 bit intensity of the battle. "'PIKACHU Used THUNDERSHOCK!', 'Got Away Safely', 'SQUITLE'S attack missed', 'ARBOK fainted!', 'Ash Whited Out'"....the annoying beeping sounds when your HP is low, the attack sound effects, the *PING!* before every battle begins, etc, etc, etc. (sighs) I miss the old video-gaming days. Yet again, here's another song that was remixed further for future games to come.

This next one is a tie. I couldn't decide on which I found more classic, since both are great.

6. Sonic the Hedgehog 1: Green Hill Zone, Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Chemical Plant Zone - Giving the "Green Hill Zone" music to Sonic is like giving "Chariots of Fire" to God! Sonic started off right with "Green Hill Zone: Act 1", in the first ever Sonic game. It's hard to describe, but maybe it's the bright environment that gives the music a little extra "Zing!" Plus, Sonic meets his arch-nemesis (Dr. Robotnik/Eggman) for the first time here. So, why is there a tie for this number? Well, having Sonic start off on the right foot is one thing, but having a partner (aka: Tails) being playable in the sequel is even better. While the first stage of Sonic 2 had a pretty cool track to it, I just couldn't help but find the 2nd stage more fun and catchy. Thus, Chemical Plant becomes a hit for Sonic fans. This colorful stage had many twists and turns and was just fun to run around. Plus, the music made you feel like you're running in a factory full of objects that bounce, twist or spin.

7. Phoenix Wright - Ace Attorney: "Cornered" Theme - Here's another CAPCOM game that not many people may know about. Phoenix Wright is basically like a mystery/puzzle/law game. It deals with courtroom drama and comedy, with you playing as the main attorney. Namely, Phoenix Wright. Near the end of each of the 5 cases of the game, when things get really intense in the courtroom, you hear this music start up. You present a piece of evidence, as proof, that your killer is bluntly lying to the court and you get the intense "I've got you!" theme! This is one of the most memorable tracks of the "Ace Attorney" series.

8. VECTORMAN: Terraport Stage 1 - Another game that very few people know about is VECTORMAN, from the SEGA Genesis. I suppose the fact that this game was a Genesis game was one of the reasons why this game wasn't very well known. Genesis had very few good games for its system, but this game was one of the good ones. The truth is, I actually didn't know about this game either, until I found out it was an unlockable game in Sonic: Gems Collection for the GameCube. This and the second VECTORMAN game were unlockables. This theme just felt really cool and matched the main character's persona. VECTORMAN is a droid, sent to clean Earth's pollution. You're also on the hunt to stop a giant machine of terror called "Warhead!" While it hasn't been announced, I hope this game is remastered for the DS, Wii, or something else. It was quite fun.

9. The Legend of Zelda: Overworld Theme - Songs that are classic are generally categorized in three groups. The song should be the first thing that comes to mind when hearing the title of the game, it should become a song that gets stuck in your head, and it has to be able to fit the mood of the game. Everyone can agree that when you hear, The Legend of Zelda, you hear the main theme song. This song ALWAYS should come to mind when you hear the title. This is whether the song was remixed or not. If you're a video gamer, you must know this song!

10. Tetris Theme - ......yeah. Imma go play Tetris now...BYE!

- Done.

My Top 10 "Future Inventions" that are Bound for Failure/Misconceptions

This list is in no particular order and was NOT stolen from another individual. Copyright Infringement will not be tolerated and all property goes to Steven Chung....AH SCREW IT! I don't care...do what you want. :)

- Blog #2: Blog Time! Here's the new list. This is another rant of mine, regarding certain inventions that I know are going to leave some sort of dent in our society (big or small).

1. Flying Cars - The idea is ingenious! Cars that fly! No longer will everyone have to worry about being behind all the slow people on the road! No more will you have to resort to using hand signals, like the ever-popular "Bird." Then...you look at the other side of the road map. Think about the concept like this, if you will. With logic being a factor, what do most/all cars need in order to run? Gas, oil, or electricity. Imagine. You're flying midair and then, suddenly, you run out of one these things. What happens? INCOMING! This idea of flying cars may hit big for decades of years to come, but I hardly see that as being a true success in American history. If we all have trouble driving on the road or we run into unexpected problems, what makes a person think that flying in the air is any better of an idea? Most of us watch the news, most of us see the numerous accidents involving cars and planes, and most of us want safety. Will flying cars really help? Will it help with the drivers that we have on the road, today? Expensive...maybe? Can you say, "Repeat-9/11"...EVERYDAY!? I don't want to see that! No one wants to see something like that ever again. It never should have happened the first time. Whether it's for money or for progress, I'd like to share some advice to the creators (not that they'll even read my amateur rant). Please...please, please, please be cautious of the consumption of flying automobiles.

2. Anything "Apple" - Apple most have mountains of green behind their company. iPods, iMacs, iPhones, iTouches, iPads, iThinkThisIsRedundant. People will just wait and wait, until the next newest device comes to light. While I think Apple has definitely made some original and fairly decent products, there are a bunch that get a bad reputation and there are even some Apple products that I have had some problems with. Why doesn't Apple use the system of "Quality beats Quantity?" Heck...Nintendo does it, (even though the new DS changes annoy me and I never bothered to trash my 1st Brand of the DS) and they seem to create masterpieces of video games, left and right. It's like Apple just takes a one-way street and just keeps going without finding the right path. Then, they hit a wall and have to wait to figure out where to go next. Despite all that being said, people still buy the semi-good technology that Apple offers. Fad...maybe? Why do we seem to want these gizmos? It doesn't appear to matter what critics have to say about Apple, because Apple workers are the ones making the "$CHA_CHUNG$!" We can predict though that many future Apple products are going to be labeled as "iFail..."

3. Time Machine - If I'm wrong about this, you can all laugh in my sorry face. I really don't think that anyone on our planet has the capability to build a device that can travel through time. Enough said.

4. Teleportation Devices - The thought of being able to transfigure your body into tiny particles of atoms, which then move towards another pin-pointed location, is fascinating. For a first thought it is, but it's scary. I don't envy the first human tester of such a device. What if something went wrong? What if, during travel, you lose an atom or two (or three)? Would you become a different person or look somewhat different? It's a nature of science to experience danger, while experimenting with certain creations. Is it really advisable to build something that, really, we don't need? Sure, creating something like this would be an absolute "Hall of Fame" moment, but we could be risking lives with such a trifle invention.

5. 3D TV - I've honestly had enough of all this 3D crap. 3D just seems to be another advertising excuse from creators with no further sense of imagination towards making something classic. I think more movies and events that weren't 3D would be more enjoyable than actual 3D. Now, we're going to be getting 3D TV! Yayyyyy...and to top it off, we get glasses! Double...yayyyyy...psht. Because of so much ridicule for the glasses, companies like Samsung are now trying to trash the glasses and have 3D television without them........how will that work? Are things just going to pop out of the screen? Ooooooooooo....dangerous. This is bound to, not only be a failure, but be a guaranteed cause for cases of seizures.

6. Robots with Human Emotions - Yes. I'm sure technology fanatics will want to have the power to create a machine with human-like qualities to help things move faster in the universe. If anyone has ever seen a movie or has even seen an animated cartoon show that involved human-like robots, then you know very well where I'm going. If a robot, suddenly, becomes violent...God help you. Not that I truly believe that line of reasoning, but it's always a possibility. While "what ifs" are looked down upon, by some, "what ifs" are often a necessity for someone like me to think about certain issues pertaining to decision making. Back to the robot. Are robots going to become a majority in our world in the future? Over the human race? Isn't it possible that we wouldn't need robots, if everyone in the world had the motivation to work ethically? Anyone?

7. Experiencing Virtual Reality..."for real" - This is vaguely similar to my mixed perspectives of teleportation and 3D TV. Virtual reality isn't new. Game companies tried several times to make virtual life fun, by making games that involve the use of a mouse, glove, helmet, treadmill and God knows what else. However, building a device to be able walk into and witness pixelated life in front of you is certainly a possibility. Unfortunately, to me, this concept is already a fail. You will NEVER witness or feel anything realistic to the real prospects of nature. A virtual copy of something is just that. A copy. Whether you believe it or not, virtual reality will only give you a picture of what real life is, what it could be, or something completely irrelevant that contradicts reality. You will only be THINKING that you are in a dreamland of your own imagination, but you're not REALLY feeling anything natural. So, why is such a "peripheral" called "Virtual Reality", when you're not actually experiencing reality?

8. Cloning Devices - I know what most people reading this might be thinking. How could something like this be a failure? Cloning a certain object or even a certain someone could be a mammoth-sized breakthrough in history. I don't doubt that something like this would be possible. The problem lies with the same sort of problem I had with the ideals of virtual reality. Can you really genetically clone something to be an EXACT copy? DNA and all? Same characteristics? Same emotions (if living thing is used)? I still believe that a copy is only a copy. You make a copy of something and, technically, you really don't have the exact same thing. You only have a copy of the REAL thing. It's picky...I know. This is one invention that I actually think could be a very real success, but the specifics of it shouldn't be overlooked.

9. Robots...in General - (sighs).......the agony and laziness that one could not simply get off their asses and do something productive. Even typing blog entries like this is something I find productive. It's just....beyond my grasp. Humans are smarter than robots. We can manage just fine. I have nothing further to say on this.

10. "The Cure of Living for Eternity!" - This is going to be a little deep....I am a believer. I really do believe that every man/woman on this planet was born for a reason. Science is a very convincing theory. It could be used to explain how every planet or how every one of us living beings on Earth, or outside the Earth, were created. In truth, I think there is a God or, rather, there WAS a God. Many different conclusions were reached by people, whom so happen to want to predict on what happens when one's time is up. You die and your spirit will disperse from your body and wander throughout the world; you die and you go to either Heaven of Hell; you die temporarily and are somehow reincarnated into another person's body to live life again; you die and....well....yeah....that's it. No one in our time has ever met a God, nor will anyone ever will (probably) and if one claims that they have seen a God, then they are lying...horribly. However, if one were to have the powers of immortality, one could live life forever. One could witness the recreation of Earth and life in millions of years to come, without hardly any bodily injury to oneself. The one problem with this is that....well....in this Earth....death is a necessity. Some animals or plants cannot live without the decomposed corpses of certain things. Even emotionally, I would not want to live forever and witness horrible tragedy and want to be able to end my misery (but can't) or just deal plain redundancy, over and over again. The saying "Bored to death..." wouldn't even apply anymore. What our real purpose is on Earth is only decided by our own mind, body, conscious, and actions. Too many adjectives could be used to describe life itself. My favorite saying about life...."When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us". We all have regrets. We can't change what was done millions of years ago. So, we need to find ways to move forward and find our purposes for living.

My Top 10 Things that Bother Me About facebook or facebookers (not pointing any fingers to anyone and off the top of my head)

This list is in no particular order and was NOT stolen from another individual. Copyright Infringement will not be tolerated and all property goes to Steven Chung....AH SCREW IT! I don't care...do what you want. :)

- Blog #1: Here's my debut performance blog! This topic is...(snare drum roll)...facebook! Here is my 1st "Top 10" list of things that catch my mind, in a bad way, about the ever-growing and popular social network.

1. Multiple Photos Generated from an Apple Computer - Really? I understand that people like to make goofy faces and use all sorts of effects that a program has to offer. All of this is done to make a web-cam candid of yourself. With all due respect, why? Why does one have to have so many identical or CLOSELY identical photos? Granted...I have one or two similar photos, but that's just it. There are people with tens or HUNDREDS. It's dumb, in a sense. Not many people are really going to comment on these pictures or even look at them. Be honest with yourself. Are you really going to look back on them yourselves?

2. "Why does video and photo loading time take so damn long?" - I'm sure this is because of some technical reason at facebook HQ that I couldn't describe to you, but it really takes too long. For real. When you upload a picture or video onto your computer, it takes just a certain number of minutes (depending on how much you have). Granted, again, that this is only from my perspective. I don't know about how others fare. Compared to when you do this process, the facebook-downloading process is almost "quad" that amount of time. For videos, it takes HOURS! HOURS, I TELL YOU! I reiterate that this is a "slight" problem at facebook HQ. It probably has something to do with the fact that millions of people upload a ton of BS on facebook for keepsake purposes. Maybe there's just too little memory space...I don't know.

3. Chat Confusion - Oh boy...everyone's favorite. When I first made my facebook account, FB chat didn't even exist. Nonetheless, it's been around for a few years now. AIM users don't seem to have many complaints about their product. So, why is facebook having such a problem? Again, is it because of lagging storage space on this site? I talk to some of my friends on FB and sometimes, mid-convo, the person goes online-offline-online-offline. The main problem isn't the fact that it's happening. It's the fact that one could think that the other person you're conversing with could be doing this on purpose (or maybe not). Either way, you feel somewhat bad/sad that this happens. Then, there's a lag with the chat system. What doesn't lag nowadays with technology "improving." Hopefully, this is a problem that can be fixed. We can only hope.

4. One Word Responses - This is something I've noticed for a while. I hope to God I'm not the only one who finds this a little troubling. We all creep each-other on facebook every now and then. It's a fact. Sometimes, when I come across a person's note or a wall-post on the News-Feed, you have these instances when someone asks you a question or makes a statement. Then, the other person sometimes takes an hour or longer just to say "K" or "Yeah...." or "Lol!" That's all you've got to say? Actually, I think someone made a "Like" group for that. (-_-...I'll get back to "Like" groups in a minute) No offense, but that's boring....and this gives off the stereotype that you're somewhat stupid. I'm sorry, but that's how I view it. OK...sometimes people do it just to be witty or lazy, but still. That actually could be worse because it just shows how immature or LAZY a person could very well be. You never really know.

5. Certain Controversial Photos - Alright, back to photos. So, duplicate photos are annoying, but what about other photos that make people look at them and go "....-__-....". People have to realize that the "outside-world", or even companies you could be applying for, are watching you. Why do you have pictures of yourselves with drinks, cigarettes or just moments when people have to say "What is wrong with this picture?" On a personal side-note, I have sworn my life against the usage of any of these types of drugs or the joyride you may get from them. If anyone out there ever sees me doing drugs, do me a favor and grab the nearest dangerous object and kill me. ANYWAYS! Having pictures of yourself with a plastic red cup in your hand doesn't always leave a smiling impression. Why people would ever find that cool...don't we all want to have a FULL grasp on that thought?

6. Song Lyrics as your Status - I'll try to keep this short, since I don't have THAT big an issue on this. First, having a song lyric as your status could leave an impression that you are in a certain mood and people WILL want to either ask or wonder WHY you even put that little sucker down on the fine white box. Second, if this lyric happens to be about something depressing in your life...seriously...suck it up and be proud of what you COULD accomplish with your life. If you have the right feel in your soul, you can't go wrong with whatever you do. Besides, I'm sure some of those "poor, unfortunate souls" are overreacting and are just attention-gleeps. Your life can't be THAT bad, unless you lost a real loved one to heaven or had a traumatic experience as a youth. Looks like this wasn't as short as I thought....

7. Poor "Grammer" - Alright...let's try this being short and simple. Why can't people just type properly? Some cases, we are in a rush and type quick messages without thinking. When you type regularly and you have poor literacy, don't you think that somehow leaves an impression that you don't have that well of an education? I'll be it that some people can't process as well as others. That's no matter how hard one tries and I can understand that...and I can even speak for myself, since I'm diagnosed with Aspergers and have different ways of learning. We all learn differently, but when you have POTENTIAL, you should have the ability to comprehend simple basics of life. This is without having your life go to waste. This is without doing real stupid things and not having any common sense. Oy....this wasn't that short either.

8. Wrong Profile Info. - OK...THIS ONE IS SHORT! Wrong name, wrong birth-date, wrong graduating school-year, wrong SCHOOL, wrong hometown, wrong profile picture, wrong, wrong, wrong! Someone tries to add you and you go " O_o...Who in bloody hell is this?", given that people (like me) add you anyway just because we want to know who you are. Why do this? Have the right information and there won't be any confusion. HA! Short!...although I could have made it longer.

9. Facebook Drama - I regret even discussing this one. Cyber-bullying has become a problem, especially with facebook now being a big thing. Yet...somehow...people find a reason...to (as they say) bitch against an individual they despise. If you hate a person so much, why are you talking or communicating with them? Leave the person alone and move on with YOUR life. It doesn't matter if you're jealous or think you're better than a person. Just don't exert your mentality against them and forcibly cause unnecessary/unintentional fights. What do you hope to gain for doing all this? I doubt people even listen to advice on how NOT to bully others in school. This comes to the point where some people, who do listen, start gossip out of nowhere and openly mock others without that certain person noticing....it's not hard to be normal and live life the way you should. Why make it harder for others?

10. "Like" Groups...Which Somehow Relate to You - Self-explanatory. We're not alone. Someone out there has exactly the same thoughts as you and they made thousands of fans over one little ditty. Some of them you look at and...amazingly...you feel the same sense of nostalgia as the creator. So, people are so bored that they have to be the first ones to make a "Like" group....wow. The problem is...there's so many of them! I don't have anything personal against these kind of things, but it's just getting really annoying looking at them all on the News Feed. I wish I could honestly dislike some of them, but that would contradict the #9 thing above and cause more unintentional drama. This is an issue that might never be stopped, unless facebook gets rid of them (highly unlikely). Oh well, what's done is done I guess. A person's a person and we all have our thoughts we'd like to share.
